How does Sides work?
The Electronic Signatures Act (ESA) allows binding contracts to be created electronically without a physical signature required.
The Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) states that parties may agree to have their disputes arbitrated instead of court. Arbitration awards can be confirmed at a court, and then used to collect your judgement similar to a court order.
Sides uses both of these laws to it's advantage to offer an alternative to traditional court and litigation.
Does it cost anything?
Sides is free to create, offer, accept, counteroffer and manage contracts.
Dispute resolution is available to everyone for a small fee. The fee will only be around 15% of the amount in dispute. This fee will be awarded back to you if you win the dispute.
How long does it take to resolve a dispute?
The dispute resolution process is swift. As soon as we gather enough evidence from both sides, the arbitration award is typically issued within a few days for a small fee (around 15% of the amount in dispute), in contrast to traditional litigation which could take years and thousands of dollars in expenses.
